What Time is it? It is Giving Time!
The Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention recently began this year’s State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) fundraising drive. For more than twenty years, the State Employees Combined Campaign has been an efficient and quick method for state employees to give to the charities of their choice.
The SECC is overseen by your fellow state employees. The SECC campaign helps ensure that charitable services are available when they are needed. “Be the one, make a difference” are the themes of this year’s campaign.
The Department’s goal is to provide every one of its employees with the opportunity to donate to the combined campaign. The monies raised will fund hundreds of independent charities and non-profit organizations across the state.
Carl Miller and Terri Grant-Boyd are serving as co-chairs of this year’s campaign for the Department and over sixty campaign coordinators have been appointed at the Department’s local offices statewide in order to coordinate the campaign throughout the Department.
“The 2008 SECC drive comes at a time of potential financial challenge for many in our country, but more than ever the charities that we contribute to as individuals and as a department are in need of our help so they can assist individuals and families during these troubling economic times,” stated Carl Miller, the Department’s SECC co-chairperson. “The Department had one of the greatest campaigns last year contributing $75,727.00 and we need to come together again and help as much as we can because so many people depend on our giving through our time and resources." stated Terri Grant-Boyd, the Department’s SECC co-chairperson.
The State Employees Combined Campaign allows employees to pledge donations through payroll deduction, cash, check or credit card. For more information on SECC, visit www.ncsecc.org
